~Callie's 'Tangled inspired' 5th. Birthday~

Callie's 5th. Birthday fell on a Wednesday.  Sooooo.....after a full day of music teaching and Kid's Club, her party started around 9:00PM after church.
Blue jello 'water' with orange slice boats.
Food served up in frying pans!
 Cheese and pepperoni boats
 Frying Pan Flynn Game
Seth drew the poster for me.
 All the cousins
Pascal party blowers for each party guest.
 Callie with her gifts.
A tiny Rapuzel doll with accessories.
A beautiful dress from Grandpa and Grandma.
 Princess game from Seth.
A pretty card and money for her doll fund.  She's saving for an American Girl doll.:)
Pastor Mark trying to give Callie her gift.  She hid under the table 'cause she didn't want anyone to see her get the gift.  lol  It was some more money for her doll fund.
She was pretty happy to see her cake!!  The entire family had kept the entire theme/cake a secret.
Can't believe our baby girl is 5!!!
Callie wanted ice cream in her purple-white chocolate covered sugar cone that was on the top of the cake.
This was taken just seconds after I caught her wiping her ice cream covered face on the tablecloth!!  Grandpa was howling!!!:)
We had the Tangled movie playing for the kids/grown-ups.:)  I do not get into animated movies, but this was one I really liked.  I just love a good fairytale.
I sewed this Rapunzel dress for Callie on Tuesday.  It was a BIG hit!!!  The Rapunzel hair was made out of an entire skein of fluffy, thick yellow yarn.
She flitted around the living room after the party guests had left, singing the song from the movie.
throwing the hair up in the air....
And of course, her doll, Jenny, had to have a matching dress.  This, I made up Wednesday afternoon after my music teaching and party preparation was finished.

 Jenny's Rapuzel dress.....
A close-up of the bodice.  Simon helped cut out the front piece for the dress.  It was his idea to sew her doll a new outfit. I didn't think we would have time, but I made it work.  :)
Duane and I caught the boys playing with Callie's new Rapunzel toys. :)  Just had to get a picture.....lol
This was a super-fun party to put together!!

So you want to have a CARROT party!!!!

What's a mom to do when her 4 year old girl comes up on a Wednesday night and asks if to make out some invitations?  She asks her daughter "what for."  Daughter replies, "I what to have a carrot party."  Soooooooo............to make a long story short.  She invited the people she wanted to invite over.  Mommy stayed up while everyone napped  and made 'carrot' foods!!! :)  It was fun to do and definitely and party-theme this mom ever attempted to do before.
We had pizza breads turned into carrots with the addition of 3 strips of crinkled green paper.  Carrots-n-dip, carrot cake and then a few 'non-carrot' food items to fill in.
Another 'carrot' pizza!!!
Callie and her 'carrot' cake.  I made it gluten-free so I could have some!!!  It was yummy!!!  And......there's lots left for me to snack on this week. :)  Oh, and on a side note.....I've completed week 1 of the couch to 5k program.  It felt great to get out and exercise in the blazing hot sun and sweat off some fat!!! lol
This morning, I'll be starting week 2.  Yippee!!!!!!!!!

A Story, Some Games & A Whole Bunch Of CANDY!

Our church had a Fall Party for the kids. It was an alternative for trick-or-treating. Each child was given a fake dollar when they walked in the door. This dollar was worth 5 seconds in the candy tote. After the story, told so dramatically by Mr. Eric, they had the opportunity to earn more dollars by playing games, answering Bible trivia and saying Bible verses. The most time you could earn was 25 seconds! Don't ya love the red eyes of this group of boys! :)
Mr. Eric captured the children's attention with his storytelling!
Pastor Mark helps Callie with the corn hole game. After she moved up closer to the board, she actually threw one in!
Some of the bigger kids have to stand back!
Some interesting poses! :)
Callie had 25 seconds to get all the candy she could fit in the bag. Instead of grabbing handfuls, she selected the candy piece by piece and carefully put it in the bag. She was happy with her choices!
Elizabeth helps two of her kids.
Two girls fill their bags.
One of the Pastor's sons fills his up!
Simon fills his bag with goodies. He gave Mommy one of his Reese Cups. Wasn't that sweet!
I love how the camera captured the sucker flying in mid-air! Seth had quite the bagful of candy when his time was up.
Pastor Cravens' oldest son had the biggest bag of candy tonight! I'm sure his mother will be thrilled when he and his brother show her all the candy they won! :)
I told everyone this was the most invigorating experience ever! The rush of having 5 seconds to fill my bag with as much candy as I could was incredible! LOL
Kathy fills up her bag under the watchful eye of a hopeful little boy.
Angie and Julie fill up with yummy candy!
Is that our Youth Pastor with a bagful of candy!
He traded me 3 packages of whoppers and 1 Hershey bar for one little 'ole Reese cup. I guess we all know what to get him for the next food pounding. :-)
Elizabeth gets her 5 seconds worth of candy. She's looking for all the Reese Cups.
4....3.....2......1......You're done!
The littlest candy lover grabs a sucker!
Isn't he cute!
