Broccoli, Icing & a foil-covered bowl of Chili

Once upon a time there was a woman. This woman lived in a white house. The white house had a green roof and a green door. It was filled with furniture, toys, 4 kids, 1 man, & 1 blue and white lunchbox. The woman would pack the man's lunchbox with wonderful food 5 days a week.

Monday, the woman made chili for supper. She decided to pack some chili in her man's lunchbox. Tuesday morning, she pulled out the foil-covered bowl and tucked it safely inside the blue & white lunchbox. She added some other goodies and handed it to her man.

At lunchtime, the woman decided to heat up some broccoli. She lifted the foil off the bowl, and to her great surprise, discovered chili!

"Oh, no," she thought to herself. "I've given my man the broccoli instead of the chili."

She quickly called her man at work, explaining that he had a big bowl of broccoli instead of chili. The man was understanding and said he would just go out to eat. The woman was sad that her man would have to spend money to eat out. She was also sad that she couldn't eat the bowl of broccoli.

That night the woman had a brilliant idea. Why not pack the chili in the lunchbox the night before. Then, all she would have to do is pull the lunchbox out of the fridge and give it to her man in the morning.

She was so proud of herself the following morning as she pulled out the lunchbox and gave it to her man.

"No eating out today." she thought to herself. "I've finally got the lunch packed right!"

Around noon, the man pulls the bowl put of his lunchbox. He lifts off the foil and gazes at blue icing! He turns to a co-worker and says, "I just don't have the heart to tell her."

He calls his woman and asks if she's missing a bowl of icing. The woman goes to the fridge, lifts the foil off the bowl of icing and finds chili! She cannot believe it. She is very upset with herself. Once again, the man has to go out to eat. He, of course, is delighted with the fact that he gets to eat out 2 days in a row!

On Wednesday, the woman carefully puts the chili filled foil-covered bowl in the blue & white lunchbox. She has double and triple-checked the contents and is sure she packed the right food.

The man finally gets to enjoy a bowl of chili for his lunch.

The moral of the story is this.........

Don't store broccoli, blue icing, & chili in the fridge in identical foil-covered white bowls!

~WHAT A DAY~

~WHAT A DAY~
*words by yours truly to capture the essence of a very bad day......

What a day that will be
when my son gets in my purse
When he looks for some crackers
and he takes out my wallet
He finds the crackers
and he lays my wallet aside
what a day....very bad day that will be!

What a day that will be
When I get to the store
I look in my purse
and I find NO WALLET
I have a checkbook
but I need my driver's license
What a day....very bad day that will be!

What a day that will be
When I turn the car on
I try to drive back home
but Findlay's all FLOODED
I can't go here or there
'cause most of the roads are closed
What a day....very bad day that will be!

What a day that will be
When I finally get back home
I mix up some bread
and give 3 lessons
get paid $40 dollars
and set it on the piano
What a day....very bad day that will be!

What a day that will be
When I bake the French Bread
When I pick up my boys
When we all go back home
When I give one more lesson
and then look for the $40 dollars
I can't find it .....oh-oh-oh where could it be!

What a day that will be
When I look all over
When I call 2 students
To see if it got mixed in their music
I look in the trash
and I look in my purse
I look a-a-all over......it's nowhere!

What a day that will be
When I ask my husband
If he sneaked in the house
and hid it for a joke
I tell him I left the door unlocked
He says, "well maybe it got stolen"!
I am sad.....ve-r-y sad that it's gone!

What a day that will be
When we sit at the table
We eat chili and bread
and cookies and ice cream
Can't enjoy the food at all
am sick to my stomach
I need that $40 dollars to pay my bills!

What a day that will be
When the whole family is lookin'
We look here and we look there
And then Mommy has a thought.....
Sure enough there it is
Tucked away in the flashcards
What a day......VERY GOOD DAY....that will be!

What a day that will be
When this song comes to an end
When I type the last word
and send it on to you
Hope you enjoy this little ditty
That I wrote for you in a jiffy
What a day......VERY GOOD DAY....that will be!
