Personalized Pillow

Found an idea online to make personalized pillows. (scroll down below the picture for the link)Thought I'd sew one up to go along with the quilt I made for a baby shower gift. It was fun and easy to make! I plan on making these for each of my kids for Christmas gifts this year! Funny thing is I showed it to Duane and he was like...."who is Scott?" We have a bunch of 's' boys in our house, but no Scott! :) I'm thinking when I get around to doing my poor daughter's name, I'll be wishing I had named her something with fewer letters. Can you imagine how big her pillow will be with 11 letters on it!!!!! It will probably stretch across the entire width of her queen-sized bed! lol :-)

Here is the link for making the pillows if you're interested in making some of your own. I did not purchase the e-book, just watch the freebie video on making them, found some free printable letters online (a coloring book) and saved my money!

Question: How does one go about renaming links to a different word, phrase, etc.....?

Happy Anniversary to a couple of couples!!

~Richard & Sarah Hutchison~
This is a picture of them taken the weekend of Richard's graduation May 2009.
If I was really motivated I would scan in a picture of their wedding day. I could tell a few stories about that day, but I'll refrain! :) Maybe next year's anniversaries will warrant funny stories & wedding pictures for these 2 couples from the good 'ole college days.

~Robert & Carrie Carter~
This picture was taken on the monorail train(or something like that) going from Epcot Center to Magic Kingdom. This was on band many years ago.
Another shot of the happy couple at a 3-D movie. Please excuse the terrible quality of picture. I took a picture of the picture before I figured out how to use my scanner. I have serious issues with learning how to work all forms of machinery! :)

What I did today....

Made some hairbands today. Had to sew Callie a skirt to match the hairband! :)lol
She just woke up from a nap and was NOT happy at mommy taking some pictures. Sarah...do you recognize the striped fabric? It used to be yours....;)

I love this one!
She asked for a picture on her bike. She wouldn't smile...just pouted!
Here is a hairband for me with a crazy-do! I made 7 altogether. I'm giving them away at kid's club as prizes. (for the girls)

Samuel's version

Checking my e-mail this morning and heard this guy singing. Had to write it down so I wouldn't forget it! The pictures are from Saturday's carnival at a VBA my mom took the kids to. He did NOT want me to take a picture of his face painting! :) He went into the bathroom immediately after I took the pictures and scrubbed his face clean! I'll have to keep that one in mind---to get child to clean face....add paint..... ;)

"The itsy-bitsy spider climbed up the water spout
Jesus came down and washed my sins right out.
The itsy-bitsy spider climbed up the water spout.
Since Jesus Christ came in and cleansed my heart from sin.
I'm in-right out-right happy all the time."

A Baby Shower Gift

Thought I would share the gift I made today for a new baby in our church. A couple of neat things about this quilt are the fact that the animal print fabric is leftover from some sewing that I did for Carrie's 1st baby. That was 11 years ago! And, the red fabric came all the way from South America!!!! I won it in a sewing blog contest I entered! Pretty neat. The other fabric is leftover from other things I have made! It was fun gift to make. Hope the new mommy likes it!

Water, Kids & a COMBINE!!!!! Not to mention some crazy pictures of ME!!

A couple of Fridays ago, we spent our 'Fun Day' at Daniel & Tina's house. They gave us the use of their pool & backyard. Someone elses backyard is always more fun than your own, right?
I found a link for some cute modest bathing suits online. The patterns are 20.00 each, so I decided to come up with my own pattern for Callie with some fabric I had at home. I sewed it up in the morning before we left. I was really happy with the way it turned out. Now I want to make one for me!!
Callie & Samuel found a wagon. The boys rather reluctantly gave them a ride around the yard.
Samuel is trying to tell Callie something....she's not listening!
Daniel & Tina's new pool. It was a blast! Thanks for sharing guys!!

Simon can sure come up with some faces.
Seth doesn't like to swim without goggles!
Callie found another toy to ride around on.
This loud machine caught the attention of all of us!
Alright, it's back to swimming.
Posing for mommy....
"Will somebody give me a ride?"
An shot of water in action!
Seth shivers....the water was COLD at first! It took me FOREVER to get my whole body in. Of course, there's quite a lot of me......
Seth hides from mommy's camera!
Callie found a baby doll & Samuel found some vehicles. They fought over who got the most space to play on the picnic table!
The story of the doll.....
Once upon a time a little girl found a baby doll wrapped up in a towel. It was sitting in a bath tub on her Aunt Tina's back porch. She brought it to her mommy and asked if she could play with it. I didn't think her Aunt would mind, so I said 'yes'. She proceeds to unwrap the baby doll. It's naked!!! Callie found a sleeper for it and wanted me to help put it on. I was glad to help get that naked baby dressed! She played with it for awhile and then started crying, "Mommy, the baby has 'dirties' on its bottom!" I looked over and sure enough it was soaked. Great, now we've got the doll all wet. I figured the kids had splashed water on it from the pool. I decided to take off the sleeper and dry it in the sun. Aunt Tina would never know we got the sleeper all wet! :) Imagine my surprise when I took off the sleeper and water started dripping out of the doll. Apparently, this particular doll is supposed to be like a real one and pee-pee! Horrors!!! The boys happened to glance over as I was trying to shake all the 'water' out. I won't even go into all that they said, just that they were hysterically amused at the peeing doll! I do know one thing....we will NEVER have one of those dolls in our house!
Fast forward to the next day.....we went shopping for a doll for Callie at TJ Maxx. I was showing her all the baby dolls and asking if she liked it or not. Whenever I would come to the 'Drink & Wet' dolls, she would proclaim in a VERY LOUD VOICE, "No, I don't want that doll mommy, It goes pee-pee!" I could feel the looks of the other parents around me!
Putting the doll away!
Samuel all geared up for the pool!
Callie pretty much sat on the ladder while I was in the pool. She would let me take her around, but I couldn't let go of her. I think she might have inherited my great fear of water!
There's the noisy combine again. This time dumping his load.
Samuel ran over to check it out.
Words cannot express these next 3 pictures that my boys took of me!

The End of a VERY LONG blog post!

If you were curious enough to look at all the pictures now here's a couple of funny videos of my kids. Simon & Seth both asked me to record them......Enjoy!

A new house!!!!

Now that I have every one's attention.....we're not moving. It's just a new house made out of fabric that fits INSIDE our house OVER TOP OF the dining room table! After seeing some of these online at enormous prices, I decided to make one up for the kids. It didn't cost me a single penny! All the fabric was stuff I already had or some of my mother-in-law's stash!
The front of the house
Samuel opens the Velcro door.
side note....minutes later he and Callie got into an argument about whether the door should be opened or closed. Guess what happened.....they ripped the door. It has been repaired now and looks even better!
A view of the tree on the side of their house.
Some flowers on the other side of the house. I cut up an old scarf to make these! I neglected to take a picture of the back of the house. It has a double door that goes out to the 'backyard'!

Youth Picnic 2009 Pictures & Videos

The following are pictures of the youth picnic at our church. If you're patient and scroll through ALL the pictures you will reach the prize....the video clips! :) This picture should have been last....but I have no patience with trying to post them in order today!
Callie wanted another push on the merry-go-round and no one wanted to push her except Samuel. Needless to say, a 4 year old can't push a 3 year old very fast! :)
2 sad little kids....it's time to go home.
One last turn on the swing.
Pastor Mark after a spin on the merry-go-round.
I simply have no words to describe this photo Duane took!
Meagan can still fit in the baby swing!
Angie says, "Look...no hands!"
Trying to catch the ball while being spun around....made me sick just watching.
This is a rare sight....Samuel consoling his sister!
Playing volleyball.
Callie & Samuel climbed up and slid down this slide MANY times!
This is fun!
My heart about stopped when I looked over and saw Callie at the top of this! The girl has no fear! She's crying cause she's mad. There was a huge gap at the top that she couldn't climb over.
Having fun with bubbles!
Thanks to the ladies that brought these for the kids to play with!
I heard that some of the teens nearly broke the springs trying these rides out! :)
Simon was determined to get to the top of this swing set. With a lot of help, he made it.
Callie tries to push Samuel. Don't think that worked out......
Ryan tries for the top. Megan started all this. She wanted to climb all the way to the top and have someone take a picture of her sitting on the top. Didn't work out....
The END!
Now for those of you that actually looked at all the above picture, it's time for the wonderful video clips of the Merry Go Round rides. Gotta see it to believe it!
