As promised----Here is a picture of Callie's new mama-made outfit! This is my new favorite outfit! I love the combo of the camo & hot pink together. This was today's sewing project along one other shirt and teaching 6 lessons! When she first saw the camo, Callie was very adament about NOT LIKING it! She DID NOT want a shirt out of it! After she saw all the hot pink added she decided it was ok! :) This is how she looked after romping around all over me and the church pew at missionary service tonight and a trip to Taco Bell! If you look close enough, you'll see remnants of cheesy bean burrito on her face! :)

Legos, Wall-E, & Earmuffs
While I've been sewing away for the last 2 days, my two youngest have been playing WALL-E. Samuel built Wall.E's out of legos and the building that he lives in. I thought it was rather imaginative! Sure beats watching endless episodes of Blue's Clues, Bob the Builder or Dora!!! :)
Totally off topic....but what's up with this new blogger update??? I can only upload one picture at a time now! ANY suggestions??????????

Has it been 13 years already?
Last night we celebrated our 13th. wedding anniversary with a pajama dinner party. I spent the day making new pj's for all the guys! Sorry folks---no picture of Duane in his. It was a fun way to celebrate and the kids absolutely LOVED it! We watched a Last Chance Detectives movie after a yummy roast dinner and then a game of Punch Bug.
Samuel in his WALL-E pj's. He had just been woke up from a nap to put on his pj's for the pajama party and wasn't too cooperative for pictures.
Duane's pj's....I didn't have much in the way of grown-up looking fabrics. But, he likes airplanes, soooooo....I figured this would work! He wore them!!!
I ran out of time and didn't get to make me a new pair. Another day......
Simon and Seth rode their bikes to the Dollar General store, bought us an anniversary card(the only one we got this year!), a giant chocolate bar & m&m's. Simon wrote these cute notes for us! I just had to scan them and share them..... It's amazing how a child's mind works! :)

Slicing through the chaos.....
Okay, so life has been rather chaotic at our house lately! This chaos can be atributed to the fact that mommy has been non-stop sewing since the beginning of September! I've been sewing things with owls:
Callie insisted on posing with some of her new fall clothes!
with cherries.....
reusable lunch/sandwich bags for our kids....
lunch bags that I gave away.....
Christmas gifts......
matching skirts for Callie & me...... I'm tempted to NOT post this picture. My skirt looks embarrassingly LARGE!!! It is a slinky form-fitting fabric so I deliberately made it bigger, but my goodness, that looks AWFUL on a picture! I hope it didn't look that bad on me! :)lol
a diaper for a one-armed dolly..... Samuel is quite fascinated with tearing off the diaper and laughing hysterically about it!!! Boys........... I just love how this dolly looks so happy even though she has only one arm! I think Callie loves her more than any of her other dolls!
Callie & 'dolly'....
a new bag for my northern sis-in-law.... sorry for the sideways pic :(
shirts for Samuel.....
outfit for Callie....She picked out the combo for this one! I would have prefered blue for the solid color, but she INSISTED on yellow! I let her have a say in the designing of her clothes (to an extent) in the hopes that one day she will have a great love for designing and sewing just like her mommy does!
My silly girl is going through a 'lets-make-a-funny-face-every-time-mommy-takes-a-picture' phase!
Curtains for my music room...
a scarf for decoration....
a bowtie for Beethoven.....
a boring cover for our coffee table(to keep it somewhat scratch free!!!)
I also sewed a nightie for me....sorry pictures will NOT be posted of that! :)
Now if you got through all that maybe you can understand a little better WHY our house has been chaotic. If I was a brave woman, I would have snapped pictures of the degeneration of my house during all that sewing. :) Housecleaning had GREATLY suffered!!!! Well, in an effort to remedy that, I decided to start cleaning LATE last night. Scrubbed the bathroom. Cleaned up piles of fabric, scraps, sewing machines, sergers, scissors, cutting mats, ironing board, iron, elastic, thread, bobbins, pins from every available surface in the living room. Yeah....you read the right. I sew in the main room of our home! Much to the dismay of most of the members of our family! :) They all love the stuff that comes out of my machines, but NOT the method or MESS I make to get those things made for them!!!! I crawled into bed around 2:30AM feeling pretty pleased with all I had accomplished! I crawled back out of bed at 8:30AM and attacked our room. Next I started vacuuming. Now comes the best part of all. I have been living with about 12 glass 4 foot posts in my hall closet ever since we moved here almost 6 years ago! I decided TODAY was the DAY. I was going to be bold and toss them!!! I figured Duane could always fish them back out of the garbage if he REALLY wanted them, but I was tired of trying to maneuver a huge box of mittens, scarves & hats, one HUGE pair of men's boots, on large red tote of clothes, & the vacuum with those glass posts rattling around. I called upon my eldest to help with this endeavor. I told him to carefully carry one in each hand out to the garbage can. I grabbed several and followed close behind him. Now the next part I will blame on good old old Mark, our neighbor, across the street. He was pulling out of his driveway as we were walking to the garbage can. He asked what we were doing and I got distracted and didn't pay closer attention to the fact that Seth was hitting the glass posts on the driveway. While walking back inside, I stepped on something sharp, thought it was a rock or piece of gravel. Lifted up my foot.........Oh my stars & garters....there was a HUGE chunk of glass sticking out of my foot!!! I pulled the piece out and blood starts splurting everywhere! I grabbed hold of my foot, applied pressure and hopped on one foot inside yelling for my son to get me a washcloth. It's amazing how fast a 31 year old can hop when she scared half to death about a gash in her foot! I stuck my foot in the bathroom sink (I'm sure that was another interesting sight to behold), ran water over while trying to inspect the damage. Yep....it was going to need a trip to the ER! Called one person, no answer...called another and she quickly left the store she was in and came and took me to the hospital. (Duane was at work and there was NO WAY I could drive to the hospital with 4 kids and a bleeding right foot!) 2 hours later I was back home with some stitches and a WONDERFUL new blue shoe with a white sole to add to my collection! They tell me I'm supposed to wear this shoe for 10-14 days!! I told them they HAD to be kidding!! No they weren't!!! Let me tell you folks putting pressure on my foot while wearing this shoe is excruciating! I borrowed some crutches, but haven't got the swing of those yet. For now, I am trying not to walk around all that much. When I am, I just walk mostly on my good left foot and the heel-side of my bad right foot. (the stitches are right below my big toe and second toe) Well.....if you got through ALL that, I'm amazed!!! Sometimes I ramble a bit, and tonight is one of those times! But hey....I actually blogged!!!!!! :) Night all!!!!!!

I'm still alive.....
Just wanted to let ya'll know......I'M STILL ALIVE!!!!!!!!!!! Just haven't been blogging lately! :) September 1st. started a sewing contest that I entered. I've been sewing like crazy trying to get some points! I got sick last week....so there went several lost days of sewing. Today, I'm feeling somewhat better so I hauled all the sewing stuff out and made Callie a skirt and nightgown. Now it's 'bout time to pick up my sons from school. Laundry is still hanging dry on the clothesline, dirty dishes need to be washed, not to mention I haven't even figured out what we are going to eat for supper tonight!!!!!!!!! AAARRGGGHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sometimes I feel as if life is too busy to even enjoy some days!! :) Oh well, I leave you with a picture of Callie modeling her cherries skirt! Have a super-duper productive day!
